My F800GS is now 5 years old with 10K on the clock. No longer under warranty, so looking for an independent BMW mechanic/technician. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you.

We have Motoscot near Luton, but can't speak for your patch.
Personally, I have found dealer prices paletable on my 2012 F650GS. Pretty simple bikes; service, MOT & valet came to £190 last September, with a £25 voucher, so £215 effectively. Worth getting a formal quote in advance & making sure your timing doesn't put you in their busy season.

I just called my local BMW dealership. 12k is the next due service. As you suggest it wasn't as painful as it might have been. I'll see what other responses I get from the pot.
