Just got my new (not so new) 1200GS!

    Hi everyone,

    I've just bought a 2005 1200GS... in Portugal.

I live in London but I'm Portuguese and my friends have started embarking in motorcycle trips. In June I will have my first touring trip to Picos in Spain. I was going to rent a bike but an opportunity happened and I bought one.

As a newbie, I will need as much info as I can get about the bike and also about gear, which I don't have any. As I'm not using the bike all the time, I'm looking for things that don't break the bank but I don't want to cut corners on safety either. If any of you have recommendations about helmet and jacket for now, I'm all ears. And, of course, I will spend some time researching in the forum.

    So, that's it...
