Hi all,
I have a customer wanting me to build him a new bike:D
I’m on the lookout for a suitable project bike.
Anything considered but not after anything too nice as I’ll totally rebuild it.
@£3k ish maybe more for the right thing
Needs to be a paralever.
Needs to be HPI clear
Would prefer it to have the original engine.as I don’t want any dubious history around a costly restoration.
Take a peek in your sheds and let me know if you have something that may fit the bill:thumb
I’m away till after the bank holiday so pm me and I’ll catch up when I get back:thumby:
Mike

Ooh, i might have something..

1990. 38k miles,R100GS round headlight model. All original. Previous owner since 1992, i serviced it for him from day one. I bought it off him in 2014 as it hadn't been used for a few years.
Tank has some rust inside and the seat cover is torn (Tiff borrowed it to get home after losing the seat of her bike when it was shipped back from USA a couple years ago).
Front brake works and hasn't seized (which is rare on bikes not used :D),
All new oils and filter, boiught a carb rebuild kit, never got around to fitting it then i put it back in the garage 3 years ago.
Needs a good clean, but all there and original.

Wheeled out of the shed today and covered in shite after being in hibernation for at least three years, all ready for you tomorrow :thumb2

I'm now down to my last eight airhead GS's. :tears

Three grand for that:D, mine must be worth at least £50!

Back safe and sound from that there lunnun,
No muggings from moped gangs or acid attacks.
Nice to see you again Neil, many thanks.
I’ll post some pictures of the wee beast ASAP.

Looking forward to seeing how it turns out... Still have the smell of old petrol in my garage :D

You’re not wrong,
It even fired up on the fuel that’s been in the tank since it was parked up in 2003,
Steppers had maintained the bike from 2 years old, totally unfuckedaboutwith.:thumb
If I hadn’t bought it for a customer project I would be sorely tempted to keep it as a personal bike:thumby:
However,we have big plans afoot:clap
I’ll do a build thread if anyone is interested:cool:

As a by the by,
The customer that has commissioned the build has a very nice R90S for sale,
Silver/grey,
Ex Gary Burton bike
Upgraded brakes, ignition, converted to light flywheel, with later gearbox internals in a smoothcase
Well sorted bike,
Pm me if this is of interest and I’ll put you in contact with the owner:thumb

I'm in cant wait to see you work your magic on this one :)

I’ve not forgotten about this one.
For one reason and another we’ve had some bother getting the frame the colour we wanted.
But in the meantime a lot has been happening.
The short motor is built ,with a 1070 kit and 336 cam
Just waiting for the heads to come back from mistacat as the owner wanted it twin plugging
