Pictures from Dentdale

A few from Geoff's epic green lane ride. 2 x punctures, too many closed trails and a couple of epic ones with one we nicknamed Stairway to Hell. Geoff managed it on his barking mad old R100Rt so we had no choice even though it was the first time I'd seen an 1100 go vertical and a 1200 do a perfect pirouette. Oh, the SWM is ace on dirt :thumb

Thanks for all your hard work Geoff and well worth the effort.

Sorry to bring this up, Chris.......... but I wish 'Geoff ' could have checked his route beforehand and maybe asked someone like myself........ a local TRF committee member on suitability of his routes - being correct and legal:rolleyes:

The first 4 routes look to be incorrect and Gearstones and that Cam Houses area has NOT been 'legal' for a good 12 years

Not good and hinders the good work we do we YDNPA:blast

As for going up Dodd Fell on big GS's.............not such a good idea

Stairway to Hell JB !!

He had checked on line and all looked Ok but I guess there is nothing like local knowledge. Still, it was a proper adventure for many reasons.....:D

Certainly is tricky even on a KTM enduro

Pity help on suitable routes was asked for, beforehand

I could have given you 6-10 perfectly legal and suitable for GS routes

Next year - anyone wanting to do some offroad @ Dent, please ask me first

few more pics of the saturday run. thanks to geoff for taking us out, the fact that some were closed wasn’t a problem, it was good fun bumbling about.

good to meet folk and put faces to names ;)

I did seek local advice (Cumbria TRF RoW expert) as to legality of routes. I also checked the North Yorks online Definitive Map for legality. We did not ride up the lanes in the photographs marked with TROs/prohibited notices. As for the route up Dodd Fell - I said to the guys that this might be a bit of a handful on a GS 1100 and 1200. They chose to carry on and did very well.

Fair enough

Sensitive routes at the moment in YDNPA that was my point

Plenty of guys on here with local advice Geoff

No worries

I just want to say I had a great time. The off road run was an adventure and that to me is what owning a big gs is all about. I dropped mine a couple of times on the stairway but only my pride was hurt. Thanks to goeff for the run and can't wait till next time. I had the 1200 that kept falling over haha.

A nice wee view just up the road from Dent :thumb2

Fook me, Dodd fell on a GS that was brave.
Did you get to the top? If so, enter the Dakar, you'll win.
