The "limiter" should just be the red shift light coming on, AFAIK there is no actual restriction, or did not seem to be on my new 1190 which occasionally surprised me with how quickly it span up through the revs, plus I had the service done at 600 miles and the light did not stop coming on until 1000km so I was ignoring it completely for the last 25 miles of the "run-in" period.
