Anyone used the campsite at Hoathwaite in Cumbria

Yes but it was a long time ago and looking the NT website it has changed loads. We camped in the field at the end of the track right next to the lake. Just a field then with a couple of taps about and a concrete building with a bog in it - that was all and a bog is the best way to describe the dirty smelly thing that it was. It was a couple of quid a night if anyone bothered collecting. It looks like it has had a huge upgrade since then.

It was good spot for access to the lake with a small shingly "beach" and shallow water. We launched kayaks and the usual family stuff. Pub at Torver and loads of options for walks all around. For biking the road down to Broughton is good as is the Corney Fell Road. Coniston is a few miles up the road with all the usual facilities. It could be one of the better campsites in the LD now.

Just here now very nice bit basic but thats ok two showers which are nice and clean and free ,
Toilet block also clean wash up facilities
No onsite shop though .and very hilly but will be coming back again
