Is there anyway to be able to connect an iPad to internet while out in the sticks

If you have an iPhone then yes there is; if not then it's still possible, I think.

On the iPhone: Settings/Personal hotspot/On

Turn on Bluetooth for both the phone and iPad and 'Pair' them.

Your iPad will now have connectivity as long as there is a phone signal; just be aware that using 4G will suck up your data allowance.

Other phones apparently have 'hotspot' capability ...

I regularly use my iPad with a mifi or an iPhone when we are camping.

You can get a mobile wi-fi widget from Vodaphone, - I'm sure other companies sell them as well. I don't have a smart phone with internet access, but I've got one of these PAYG (you can also get a contract) mobile wi-fi's and it works great. I think it cost £30 originally, then you can top-up as you go. Well worth a look.

iPhones can be a mobile data hotspot via USB, WiFi or Bluetooth. So can provide data for any connected device.

Thanks people , followed your instructions and it works ,
