Any oil behind clutch cover?

Going to fit a Magura clutch kit and was wondering if I need to drain the engine oil before removing the clutch cover (the Magura instructions do not mention it) Also will I need a new clutch cover gasket or can the old one be re used?

As he says - I seem to recall seeing an install vid somewhere when I was considering this for my 650 twin (clunky knuckles not getting any better with age..) they just lay the bike over against a bench or something to ensure no loss of oil.
