Hey,it’s Andres pet name not mine.
Had a little job to do on our favourite hippies Cali today,
Was quite surprised when he dropped it off,I’d shamed him into cleaning it.:D
First thing I was greeted by was this:comfort
Here we go ,thinks I:thumb

Fortunately it would appear the bolt had just fallen out and someone had filled the hole with resin metal to stop the resulting oil leak.
I was expecting to see a broken bolt but Once the cover was off,it was ok,just needed a tap running down it:thumb2

Okay, that instalment wasn't worth the short wait, although I would imagine Andres is happier.

Come on Maestro, get posting the pictures and commentary. I don't think you understand how much pleasure you bring when you rip something apart and put it back together again. :thumb2

Whilst we wait for some IT wizardry on the video front I’ll carry on.
Once stripped and cleaned everything is given the once over.
You can see from this pic where the chain has been trying to escape by eating its way out:eek:

Years of shite and a fair bit of corrosion needed a proper clean,
Andres,I did go gentle,I know you and David Nimrod call it patina,I just call it Shiite and corrosion:blast
I lowered the pressure in the aquablast so it wouldn’t look like a new pin:thumby:

What a ffoooking carry on:D
In order to refit the timing set,all the shafts need to be set in the correct position, the sprockets then need to be in the correct position relative to the chain AND the shafts,
Then slid on together whilst ensuring the woodruff keys are not pushed out backwards.
And I can assure you,,,fitting the sprung tensioner was a complete bastard:comfort
