    Tour de France

Copied my own post from the Sports section as thought some on forum might benefit
And following a recent Thread regarding personnal triumphs up Ventoux in another section
Love it or hate it , its arguably one of the toughest sporting events in the world .
I once read an journalist describe the Peleton as something of "Beautifull, efficient and Dangerous" I think this years race proves that
It is not unusual for a rider in this sport to continue with broken Collar bone or even leg ( Contador ) a few years back and I certianly wouldnt want to do the descents in the mountains wearing just a Lycra bodysuit , Yes thik Gibert today continued with that Knee injury.
Yes SKY,s maticulious attention to precision tactics & deail had took the edge of the viewing in recent years but this year
This years race can only help the tour viewing as it is turned on its head with Geraint Thomas looking now to win with the cracking of froome, Tour commentary on tererrstial TV is excellent with the experienced voice of Ligget ( and the inside scoop/tactics on whats going on by David Millar is superb
I also love it as it is a great showcase for France and the footage i of the stages where they cut to ariel shots of beautiful places and the footage in the mountain stages is great for us that like nothing better than motorcycling in the Alps
Perhaps it might help people use the footage as a "Window" to what they are missing out on and inspire a few who have not made the journey.

In addition for those struggling with Route options or planning some days are altready mapped out, easy really
