Hi everyone :) currently looking at a few 800's around the 2014 and 15 age

seen a few with just abs and a few with the rider modes and asc/esa

Been looking at a few of them that are just abs and one thats got all the toys on it.

Was wondering how do you guys find the rider modes and asc worth having or not on the 800 :)

Was there any changes between 2014-15?

Thinking of the normal GS over the GSA spec.

Thanks in advance,

Tom

The 800 ESA is on the rear shock rebound only so its more of an electronic screwdriver than the full system fitted to the R1200GS.

Buying used and out of warranty both systems are more expensive things to go wrong.;)

Good point :) was thinking that long term :) was trying to decide mainly if ASC and the enduro mode is worth having for going off road with an which would be best resell wise once I find a new job an if I fancy a 1200 in the future again joys of redundancy!

Was reading the owners manual on the BMW site about how it works :)

For older s/hand bikes go basic. The ESC option on the rear shock was never anything more than a way to extract more money from buyers. May be ok if you are 10 stone as the designers use as a base but no use in reality, we have it on our F700 and in fact is a hindrance to suspension tuning if you are outside this, ie a bit chunky.

Thanks for the replies everyone bought one from Jeffries this week just abs on it so really happy :) can't wait to pick it up
