hello - newbie here and very pleased with my 2001 1150GS that I picked up on Monday. Had loads of bikes but nothing similar before, wobbled away from the dealers a little shocked at the size of the thing and enormous bars, but soon got into my stride and covered the 30 miles home without incident, apart from hitting the left indicator even when turning right ( need to get used to that). A few short evening runs out since ( now with correct tyre pressures) and it's a blast - feels very planted on the road. At 49k miles Just needs a little cosmetic attention, which will mostly be sorted by a fastner set I have ordered. Looking to do some longer trips, which was the main reason for buying it as my sports types bikes are just too uncomfortable these days for such trips, with me being 1963 vintage. Anyway will hang around and gather useful info no doubt as I get the distinct impression these GS's can get under the skin. Cheers
