I managed to totally drain my 2010 GSA battery a couple of weeks ago, I plugged my recommended BMW charger into the CANbus socket but after several hours the light was still showing red on the charger, it had not moved to amber to show it was charging and was clearly not up to the job. I disconnected it and then connected my Optimate direct to the battery and within a few hours it had successfully recovered the battery.
