Some of you may recognise this bike as it was advertised on the forum last week.
Maybe the fact it was effectively a non runner and had been stood for 7 years frightened you all off.:comfort
Well ,it’s in my workshop now,the plan is to carry out a full recommission.
Maybe someone reading this will have a bit more confidence in buying the bike once we’ve given it some tlc :augie

I was away last week, and now cant find the advert....and was wondering what year it was (maybe its my first GS..... looks about right..... does the index start H91...?)

Will look foreword to the re-commission update.

Started pulling a few bits off,
The air box, starter cover and t.chest can have a refurb as the paint is a bit scruffy,.
I’ll vapour blast and rebuild the carbs

Thanks for the reply (and link) Mike

Keep us updated as I love your re-build threads

Was awaiting parts on customer bikes today ,so we had a chance to get a bit done on this little project.
Realistically,I was never going to get this as clean,as I wanted,so it all came off

The bearings were a bit rough anyway,
I intended to replace all the seals on the bevel,so stripping it is no big deal,
I want the bike to be perfect when it sells,:thumby:
Now I’m happy:D

Once to swinging arm is out,it’s only 1/2 dozen more bolts to pull the box .
On a bike that’s been stood for a few years,it makes sense to have a proper look at things.
Prop is perfect,(P.O. said scrimminger had rebuilt it.)
I wanted to take a look at the oil pump, and fit a new rear main seal, crank o ring and oil pump o ring.
Clutch was probably serviceable 7 years ago when the box was rebuilt but it looks a bit sorry now,
It’ll be fitted with a new one:thumby:
