I'm aware that quite a few on here run campervans or motorhomes and I'd like to seek some advice please. I may be buying one next week for a lengthy jaunt into Europe with my wife, and I'd like to ask for recommendations for insurers. Any good specialist insurers you've used, or any you know of to be avoided?

Adrian Flux are good.

They wanted pictures showing modifications before agreeing a valuation, fair enough.

Talk to them and they and seemed sympathetic to my needs.

I’m with HIC, recommended by bods on a T6 forum
Herts Insurance Consultants, 2 The Causeway, Bishop´s Stortford, Hertfordshire, CM23 2EJ. tel:03443816530

Was a good price too

Caravan & motorhome clubs own insurance, you need to be a member to get best rates, previously with caravanguard for several years.

VW for our T5, Adrian Flux and Direct Line since.

For myself either SAGA if you're eligible or Safeguard

Mind ... I'll be checking some of the suggestions about out at renewal time :D

I use Safeguard, it covers europe fully comp unlike some cheaper companies that require a green card fee or reduced to tp when abroad,
Un restricted aa cover included inc europe, some have age and limits over 18 ft or 3.5 ton,
Check you have the cover you need it does vary,
We had a big claim years back and they were good, reasonable prices,, at least on my post code etc,,

Mine sleeps on the street outside Charley, as you know, but still reasonable even with my PostCode

Big HGV steering wheel lock mind :D

That battery still going strong :thumby:

Just done my t5 with Adrian Flux and found them very reasonable considering it's got loads of mods as well as a full camper conversion .

We use the caravan and motorhome club for ours. I can’t remember who the underwriter is but the premium was good when you consider it’s an additional policy with minimal no claims.

NFU are a good, don’t ask too many questions and offer good rates and first class cover

Micky...insured against third party, fire, and woodcraft.....

One has to be up there in your neck o' the woods :D

Are you going to use those picture FOREVER?

Actually I'm offended...they are abusive and insulting, comparing me with an inanimate wooden object, just because of the hat I have to wear. I'm affronted and demand compensation.

this is an outrage.

I’m outraged for you but I defend Micky’s right to express his opinion. Besides there is a bit of a resemblance n’est ce pas?
