I’ve got a good reason to celebrate today, Mrs B went to see her consultant today and he says they’ve got rid of everything cancerous so 3 weeks of radiotherapy then that’s it until she goes back for a check in 5 years. I’ve gone a bit slushy and sent flowers with a message saying her I’ll see her next Friday.

Let your wife know Ken because she said keep her updated.

Yeah, pop round tomorrow. She won’t be there because she’s off to Goodison for her latest dose of misery but I can get her to leave the shed unlocked so you can cut the grass rather than it being a wasted journey.

How many points gained for flowers from Estonia, how many points lost for being in Estonia? I may just about be even but without the flowers I’d be in the shit :D

All joking apart, we’ve got a week in the sun together flying out early next Saturday and she said just go now, the weather would be worse if I left it until 3 weeks later and being there today wouldn’t change the result so I dithered for a while, decided she was right and the rest is history.

Now all I need is for the result of the tests regarding my daughter and her suspected lymphoma to come back clear and I might bugger off for another holiday :D
 
I don't know you Andy but I like how you do your trips (similar to mine). Great news for your wife and you too. The waiting for the news is not the place to be

I’ll often post about different ideas that go through my mind for my summer jolly but once I leave home it’s purely a case of taking whatever life throws at me and throwing it back while making the most of it.

I’m not saying it’s the best way to do it because others get a lot of fun out of loading routes into a satnav, booking hotels and having it all in place but if it goes a bit wrong they’ve got to make do whereas I just have another beer, look at google maps, look at the weather forecast then go to bed and when I wake up in the morning I either decide it was a great idea and go or think I must have been really pissed the night before and look again.

I don’t have the slightest idea where I’m going tomorrow, the old Russian base looks interesting and it’s only an hour away so I might go there if it’s not raining. If it’s raining I’ll just run with it and when it stops I’ll have a break and decide what to do. My way of doing things would drive the majority of people crazy and it would never work if I was away with a like minded person but it’s a laugh for me and it keeps the readers amused for a week or so.

Yes, earlier this year I set off for the Eifels/Black Forest area, but looking at the forecast for Europe on the getgo morning it was decidedly shite and ended up doing a lap of Scotland, the weather was great.

I’d already walked past 4 times before I realised the British embassy is about 3 minutes walk from my apartment. I knocked on the door and asked if they fancied offering me a beer but they called me a scruffy oik and told me to piss off.

Undeterred I walked a couple of hundred yards further and opted for a glass of kaibemaksuta which piles in at 6.8% but looks a bit dodgy.

Andy, I have found a good spot for riding in Poland. Might be taxing on the GT because you lack the travel of the SA and GS suspension. Don't bother with Poznan. The traffic will get to you. Stick to the minor roads for swift rogress or mainly less traffic or traffic free roads.

Don’t be shy, where is it? I was thinking of doing a bit of a detour around the NE of Poland because I got punted over there by a closed road last year and there were some cracking roads through the forests with plenty of nice looking lakes to pitch a tent next to.

I’ve had plenty to eat and soak up the beers. I’ve just been told by A that her flowers are lovely so the points are banked and rest assured they’ll be claimed later.

Having said that I’m only 5 minutes walk from the apartment and another beer might see me sleeping on a park bench. It’s a good job I can remember enough words in Russian to fend off unwelcome approaches if woken at 2am by a local with a fancy for undernourished Brits.
