Hello just signed up to the forum having bought myself a 2016 GS.
I've owned motorcycles ever since I was 16 and the GS isn't my first BMW, that was an R1100RS that I had from new and during the five years I owned it I put 185,000 mile on it.
As well as the GS I have a Bonneville T100, a great bike for a bimble round the Peak District but not so comfortable for a longer trip. For those I bought bought a Honda NC750X, a fantastic bike but I found that for some reason it wasn't comfortable for all day riding despite seat and suspension upgrades. When a friend made me an offer for it that I couldn't refuse I sold it to him and bought the GS.
I've just returned from a three day trip to Dorset and BMWs are still comfortable to ride.
