    Assuming you are using the Lightning cable to charge the phone have a look at the eight “pins” each side to check if one of them is discoloured. If so it (pin 4) is caused by moisture on that positive pin and subsequent oxidation - even if in a waterproof holder atmospheric water vapour can be the culprit as I understand it - quite a lot of internet discussion about this issue

    You can also check the battery indicator (top right) to see if the phone is getting the expected power

    I see that the charger is rated at 2A and assume that this is sufficient for an iPhone 7+ when it is running GPS, that big screen on full brightness, Bluetooth and other apps? Even my iPhone 7 struggles in this situation, ‘tho I’m unsure what my charger is rated at
