I got this Touratech mount, but I can’t fit any RAM ball to the rear 4 bolts, as the spacing doesn’t fit.
This strikes me as somewhat bizarre, what am I missing..?

I called Touratech, who sold me two brackets for the handlebar crossbar. These don’t have the correct spacing either!

Short of custom making something, can anyone solve this conundrum..?

Does the new brackets fit the spacing on the 2 square holes? And do you have the actual plastic Garmin mount?

Yes, I have the Garmin mount, which I'm using with a RAM ball on the back, like normal...

The brackets don't fit the square holes either. Nothing RAM make seems to fit this mount.

Either there's a part missing... or something very odd has happened!

david i have this you can have for free and all you would need to do is drill 4 more holes to suit, its flat so would be easy to mod to suit.

That looks good, and many thanks! I'll PM you later on today:beerjug:

However...

What I really need to know is what Touratech expect you to use..?

And why oh why don't the holes on their mount match the RAM ball

Like I say... I *must* be missing something:blast

Have you contacted Ram, to ask them?

There used to be a bod on here, Ramman or summat like that.

My mistake was thinking about the 4 bolt holes... and not the 2

deksawyer - thank you for putting me right!

Now sorted

Just out of interest - you have the Nav locked into the TT mount, but what stops the casual thief removing the RAM arm instead?

Personally I use a telferizer security bolt on one bike & a RAM secure nut on another (I think these were marine products at the time) but nothing seems that secure TBH.

I don’t really regard any of these mounts as ‘secure’... it’s a case of taking the unit with you, if it seems like that kind of a place!
