Getting ready for DgR and my mates r80 not having moved for three month decided to leak the partial contents of the final drive onto tyre. Cleaned it all... Drove back no leaking.

Checked oil level via the rear plug and there was excessive oil coming out.

Question is... Haynes states 50ml other on line source state 100-150 mls.

Im inclined to think the seal was dry hence the leak...

Any advice appreciated.

There is a level plug at the rear

When the oil stops leaking out its at the correct level when the bike is held up vertically

Its a twin shock so the stand is probably bent out of shape of been binned for a hipster look!

N.B. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN ANY OF THE PLUGS ITS A VERY SOFT ALLOY THEY USED!!!!

There should be about 100ml of oil in the driveshaft area too The two plugs above and below just where the FD joins the swingarm

All transmission oils should be GL5 specification no matter what viscosity you use
