I recently acquired a Zumo 595 and since I’m planning to ride across Africa where such items are often appropriated without compensation I opted to also get the TT lockable bracket. My plan was to install the bracket here:

The intended en result:

However, I quickly realised the saddles supplied will only fit a 12mm bar.

I promptly called TT UK, only to be told that I need this bracket too:

Apart from the fact that I have a media bag that goes om the handlebars, this position means you have to take your eyes off the road to see the GPS. I called TT Germany and was told they used to make another bracket but not anymore. I found one on Ebay but realised that even though it’s in the right location, adding this extension onto the screen brace and then fitting the GPS means it’s gonna be too flimsy. Probably why TT discontinued it.

I need to GPS for a ride the next day so a quick visit to Screwfix resulted in this temporary solution.

Not aesthetically pleasing but functional. Many Google and Amazon searches later I found these SS saddles.

I drilled out the holes, painted them black and here’s the end result.

I would prefer something a little thicker and more robust but for the time being, this will work just fine. All I meed now are four little end caps like those supplied with the Ram brackets to cover the thread of the bolts and I’ll be content.

BMW do a special fixing bracket. Have a look on the Motorworks website.
Look in the BMW Parts Catalog OEM
Choose Bike ref:- K75 (F800GS Adv)
Optional Equipment and Accessories.
Go to Mounting parts Navigation, then look in Audio, Navigation, Information System
Part No 71607713903

I have used this bracket to fix my Touratech lockable GPS bracket onto my F800Adv, it works a treat.

Great, will have a look. Thx!!

Since the original post I’ve tried a few options.

My third attempt was to take the 12mm TT saddles to the local blacksmith. Had them stretched and painted them black. They are still on the bike, works fine but because of reshaping, the holes do not align properly and the nuts used to fasten to the bracket, catches on the side. These will do for now but still not ideal.

Last week I used my limited skills (and POT) to design the saddle I need and sent the design to the engineering shops around town. Can be made at a cost of £20 each if I order minimum 4 units.

I do wish to have it done properly but not at this cost. I’ve since asked a friend in South Africa to make me a set which he will send back by way of another friend out there on business. Manufacturing cost is

I've got the same bracket that Bilko mentioned, works perfectly.

You can use that in conjunction with the TT lockable mount. Swap, the adjustment lever for a locknut
