    Rear shock shortening

    Want to lower the seat height a smidge on my enduro. Can anyone recommend a suspension specialist to assist? I’m in the south-east. Cheers

    What's the bike, can you get shorter links/dog bones?

    The only people I have experience of (VERY good BTW) in the SE are MCT Link Here

    Cheers for the suggestions. Dr Shox mucked my mate around a bit with his 690, seemed a little overwhelmed with work so not too keen on that idea

    It’s a Berg 390 so no dog bones to muck about with, the shock is mounted directly to the swing arm so shortening the shock seems the only option save shaving the seat which is a half arsed way of achieving a height réduction

    I had FTR Suspension shorten a shock for me ( which they later changed back again!) very good service and quick turn around.

    Get it done properly, the spacer inserted internally on the rod will simply limit the amount of travel while shortening the O/A length, but importantly won't affect the majority of the performance, you may or may not need a shorter spring as well.

    Some people do the bodge of backing the preload right off and lift the forks up a bit but by comparison it'll handle shite.

    Had a quote from Torque racing - Forks and shock service is £240 (£120 each). Spacer is +£40

    Not had this done before so does that sound in the ball park? Heard good things about Martin (the owner)

    I'm sure I paid not far off £240 to have my rear shock re-shimmed and serviced along with a full F & R set up (forks weren't serviced, just dialled in properly) so yeah, sounds reasonable to me.
