I have found some end play in the 2 pot-type(BMW name) rose joints in the fork bridge. Just wondered if this is normal as at about £60 each I'm a bit reluctant to change them.
They were quite rusted and stiff to start but now move freely, but have more end play than I would expect.
Any cheaper alternatives or is it a BMW only part?

What are these 'rose joints' on the fork bridge?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe someone else knows?

I had to replace mine about 2 years ago, managed to get them off a crashed bike, but yes
for what they are, the price is somewhat over the top.

Yes, they have end play, rotate freely with no side movement.

What end play ? You do know that you can grip the fork stanchion and twist it around, and that's perfectly normal.
