Last year when the 1290S was bought off NM I struggled to get insurance for it for less than 600 smackers. Really odd, but eventually got a deal with newly formed Mackenzie Hodgson. Sub £400. Was a right fiasco as they must have had 2 people in the office at the time. Anyway, eventually sorted.
No restriction on riding abroad, not that I did much last year, but the previous year the GSA was parked in Geneva for 5 months, so 2 months more than most policies cover.
Anyway, the renewal came and you know what I'm going to say here....
