Have been thinking of some additional lighting on my 1290r and wondered what other people have fitted. Seen the light bar from black dog which was what I liked the look of.
Clearwater Darlas - love them!
How did you mount them under the light? Nice set up
$600+....kidding right?
I've got 4 of these mounted under the front light of the 1290: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Spot-Fog-Light-Headlight-Front-Head-Lamp-6-LED-12V-85V-Pair-Universal/263354717732?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170920101022%26meid%3Dccaf1063ed3441c8a01185bc3a19326a%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D253287055210%26itm%3D263354717732&_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109
EVERYBODY stares at them when I'm out. I fitted 4 to my Freeride for night time rides. The light output is quite wide, they're cheap as chips so I don't worry about breaking them, but the best bit is the ball joint mount - you'd be unlucky not to find a fixing somewhere for these. You can bend the end in a vice too, which gives you even more flexibility. For daytime riding, if you want to be seen....brilliant. Why pay more!
Im not putting cheapass lights on a £17K bike!
Don't blame you. For me it's all about why I need them. If it's mostly DRL reasons there's just no point spending big bucks any more. Pointless. These lights might be cheap but they're annoyingly bright But if you're seriously off-roading and think it's worth it then why not.
I appreciate it’s slightly different and a personally choice thing but when one of the original spots failed on my 1190 R, I fitted a pair of these:

They fitted onto the original mounts after a bit of thought and just needed to solder on a different waterproof connector and was good to go. They’re seriously bright and a fraction of the price of the KTM replacements. I use them greenlaning and so they’ve been well hosed down and still work fine after 8+ months.
Did you measure the actual power usage on those?
