Just wondering if anyone has tried fitting engine bars from the the R1200GS to the new R1250GS - Or is it a question of buying new, because the exhausts are more swept back....
I've got a 1250 and the dealer says the 1200 bars dont fit cos the pots are larger and stick out more than 1200. Comparing my 1250 to a mates 1200 I can see the difference quite noticeably.
Well I measured the pots of an R9T against the 1250 at the NEC and they were identical. However the exhaust header route is different so the 1200 bars won’t fit.

Both bore and stroke have increased in the 1250, so the internal bores will be both wider and longer, though only by millimetres. This may or may not be reflected in the external dimensions, but I would think it would be hard to avoid some increase in size.
