Thought I would remove the plastic front engine cover to check for any corrosion which some of my previous R. engines suffered from, mainly because of a piece of sponge fitted behind the front cover. Thankfully no sponge and no corrosion either.

I would take the opportunity to spray that with a hard cavity wax prior to refitting the cover.
 
Will do. Is that wax heat sensitive ? Or does that front engine cover not get too hot.
Might run it up for a while and see what temp it gets to before fitting the plastic cover.
