Just replaced my old starter motor with a spare I had. Bike is a 1999 R1100GS

Problem is that I can't remember if the spare was a past replacement from a different bike and something was wrong with it :blast
It starts the bike but gives a wheeze.

I seem to remember somewhere you could get a cheap reliable replacement. ( not sure if there is or it was the beer talking one night )

Is there a cheap or cheaper replacement?

Worn reduction gear? If the other one was silent, try some cannabilism?

Go over to Maze to Frazer auto electrics 2 Lissue Lane and ask them to check your old one and if they cant fix it they can get a you a replacement

Its likely just need the one way gear at the pinion flushed and lubricated (NOT WITH WD40)!!!!)

You are a gent. I will try them over the holidays.
