One of plannned projects for this year:

It’s a ccm motocross chassis with a honda cb250rs engine. I haven’t looked at it for years but it came to the top of the pile after a recent clearout. I remember the project stalled because the exhaust was beyond my skills and facilities at the time. Because the cylinder barrel is canted forward there isn’t much room to getthe header tubes past the frame. Now I can buy 22mm stainless exhaust tube which I can bend and weld but I’ve not found pre-formed elements in 22mm which makes me think it would normally be bent. So if I needed to tighten the radius of a bend would this normally be done by slotting the inside of the curve and weld it. Also, how important is it that the two small diameter tubes are the same length before they’re joined?

Webasto do 22mm flexi ehaust pipe

Ao you could weld that to the exhaust flange, bend it to suit and then into solid pipe

Thanks for the suggestion. I’m not sure how flexible it is - I’ve seen larger diameter stuff used on other bikes and the radius looks less tight than you could get with solid tube. I’m thinking of experimenting with copper pipe just to see what sort of radius is needed.
