Do they all do that sir?

Wants people to send him their crank....... Since he is nothing more than a blacksmith - they should just send a photo or two.

Yes, journal/web interface is a possible source of failures - that is the very reason they have compacted grain radii in those areas.

He’s a (what’s the word?)..... sensationalist, but qualifying that with ‘matey-speak’

Well in truth he was relaying the information from EDR in the US
Nevertheless there may be a design fault? Or maybe it's just track bikes?

:beerjug:

There is quite a lot of noise about their cranks and gearboxes , it was a concern when I bought my MT.
Apparently it’s a different crank and I haven’t seen any issues online about them , so I forgot about it.
It wasn’t just track bikes either

Didnt Nick Sanders bike get reinspected by Yamaha following one of his 22 day ROW jaunts. Everything was deemed in tolerance with kittle or no wear. I always thought the R1 engine was really strong?

Steve

Did Sanders ever use a cross-plane R-1?

I know he used the 5VY and the 4C8 engines. The 5VY despite 5v/cyl - is a remarkably-durable engine.

He’s a waffler. The least he could do is know what he wants to say before he starts the camera. JJH

Firing order is 1324 anyway it sounds great
