I have been insured by them, since renewal last July

At the weekend, I sold my KTM and as such, phoned them on Sat morning to advise them

The girl made a note on the policy and said the adjustment would be made on Mon/Tues

This afternoon I got an email saying I would be getting a £100, part refund of the total original premium (for my 5 bikes) which represents 20% of the original premium, although it's been running for 6 months and the remaining 4 bikes remain on the policy unaffected

The KTM originally loaded the policy as it was the newest bike

Happy Days

No fuss

No drama

No admin fees

No cancellation fees

No reluctance to return part of the original premium

Just plain, good old fashioned service:thumby:

Try them if you don't have brand spanking new bikes, you may well be surprised

I get the same with NFU. Good service, no charges for changes and they beat the best my local broker could come up with by £1000+

I am sure people can Google it for themselves..............

Steady.

As for Hiscox? Following an introduction from ChasMill, via the Lloyd’s Motor Club, I - during the course of six months - moved the insurance of 10 assorted vehicles (bikes, cars and a motorhome) onto one single Hiscox policy, bringing everything to one single renewal date. Maybe not the ultimate cheapest but certainly the most efficient and, above all, gave me the non-standard cover that I needed. A close second came the NFU, who I’ll be talking to again when my single Hiscox multi-vehicle policy comes up for renewal. Now that I have - with Hiscox’s help -got all the vehicles to the same expiry date (previously I had assorted policies, with several insurers, incepting on different dates) it makes it easier to compare prices for either renewing them under one policy or maybe shopping around for several policies with several insurers. The broken up policies I’ll only buy if the annual saving is greater than say £300 or a quid a day. Anything under that and it’ll not be worth fecking about.

Very helpful, I shall maybe do the same - however my 4 wheelers are with NFU on one renewal date and my bikes with RH - so 2 dates aren't too arduous

I had four or five separate renewal dates. It worked but made comparing all up prices difficult. Also having five separate conversations (that’s nearly one every other month) was just tedious, especially when one insurer of two sports cars on the street in central London won’t consider another car when it’s in secure storage.

From what I read on my policy docs, RH is part of the Hiscox group.

Indeed it is. They are also the owners of Equity Red Star, the insurer to the Devitt operated BMW branded, Motorrad scheme. My multi-vehicle, multi-use, Motor policy issued by RH (Hiscox) is actually insured by Equity Red Star. That’s the same ERS, that refused to renew the insurance for my 1600, last year. Funny old world.

Like those above, I only have two motor policies. One for all the bikes and the other covers the two cars.
And they don't piss about with costs at renewal times despite the bike policy being a well known broker who frequently get slagged off on the forum about renewals ..

Must be my nice telephone manner :D

I had to make a change to my policy
there was a charge associated with it
I paid the charge
I'd read the terms and conditions
I survived
I did not complain
There was no outrage
Life went on
I had a kebab the other night
And a can of fanta
It was also nice.
There was no outrage.

Nice feedback from Wapping.
I'd try to do the same thing to have one single renewal date.
I have two bikes on a multibike policy + car.
I also hope they might be a bit more flexible on one of the two bikes.

Same. They didn't want to renew my GS/HP multipolicy after a few years (I think 3?) with them via BMW.

I'll try them too at renewal time.
I had to change from ERS last year, same reasons as you, too.

Just had my renewal 'invitation' (nice parlance and I like the cut of their jib) after 1 year with RH/Hiscox/ERS

What I do like is their 'plain english' in the paperwork and everything laid out and up front - the sign of a good business in my eyes

All very fair and equitable and the invitation is £20 cheaper than last year too - so I shall be renewing

I would have (not using the preposition of incorrectly as a verb) renewed if they were more expensive too, as I like the way they operate

More most excellent service from RH today

I have had an old Yamaha Trials bike for a couple of years, that I have been meaning to get road registered..........so as my MOT man (who understands Trials bikes was packing in, I decided to kick myself up the jacksie and get on with it)

Mot was done, a few weeks ago

So I engaged a man who specialises in getting bikes registered (either imports or old bikes) to sort the paperwork with NOVA etc and sort/fill the forms in, so I have to do is send the fully completed forms (by him) all to DVLA with the VED & Reg fees and bingo, it's got a Reg plate

All done except the insurance side

So I phone RH Insurance today and asks all about it, no problem they say - we can provide a cover note on the frame number and then when the reg numbers comes back from DVLA, call us back ad we will issue a Fully Comp certificate until renewal date (July 2020)

She takes all the details and says she will refer it back to the Underwriters, then call me back

She calls me back at lunchtime and says the cost will be £5.60, to add the bike and issue a Cover Note ...............well chuffed

I asked if that was just for the Cover note?

No she replied it's for all year, until renewal in July 2020.............just call back with the reg number and we'll email you a proper road insurance certificate when you hear back from DVLA

Well done RH Insurance Services :thumby:

JohnnyBoxer....you don't need insurance to register a bike anymore, unless you're a NI resident.

Good shout about RH....my Footman James multi classic policy is up for renewal in a fortnight, so I'll see how RH compare.

Just had my renewal for my GSA and Thruxton R .. I’ve been with MotorCycle Direct for many years... will give RH a try... wonder if they give discount as our house is insured with Hiscox

Proppa Fanta the Orange stuff ?? or the Yellow stuff they now call Orange ;)

I've just been going through the annual joy of getting quotes as my current insurer puts through a daft increase.........

Four bikes and a £650 premium to renew (a 25% increase).

I phoned RH, they were dead helpful, really straight forward, no hard sell (kit cover, legal cover, bollox cover etc.......) and promised to email me back within the hour with a quote.

They kept their promise and a premium of £380 (including Euro breakdown).

I'm very happy :)

Andres
