These bolts are all over the place. They hold the airbox outer panels in place, the chain sliders, rear mudguard and loads of other things. Mine are a miss-match of all kinds of bolts and I'm looking to replace the ones that can be seen. Problem is that the local dealer wants £4.50 each for them and I want to buy 20. £90 seems very steep and not something I'm prepared to pay for a handful of bolts. :blast

Does anyone know of a substitute that fits at a real world price please?

Put the size in Ebay and you can get any bolt type and quantity you want

Here - these look similar (had G650X myself)

Should work out less than a tenner

If you have an engineering supplies locally try there

We have one, in town and I got 20 M5 button head stainless, 20 M5 nyloc nuts, 20 washers and 4 M10 nuts and 6 6mm big penny washers for a quid, last week

Thanks for the link but the bolts I have are shouldered to stop them being over tightened. I have plenty of M5 button heads but none with a shoulder. Hangonamo, I could add sleeves of the right depth and that should work. Thanks. :thumb

That was one example

Right-ho, I now have a definitive answer that may help others. The bolts in question are the ones that hold the airbox cover and side panels in place. They are M5, with a 3mm deep x 8mm wide shoulder. The BMW part number is 46637708777, describes an an M5x9mm but the 9mm doesn't include the shoulder depth, so they are 12mm long overall. BMW want £4.40 inc VAT each for them!

It is the identical bolt that's fitted to the Aprilia Caponord 1000 and many other Aprilia's, which is described as M5x12mm screw with flange, part number AP8152302 at £1.86 inc VAT each. :thumb

I could have made something fit but wanted the exposed fasteners to look good. Even though the Aprilia part is not cheap, it's less than half the BMW price. Result! :D
