R90s pub quiz

From an R90S and R90/6 owner..

Well, Mikeyboy, most things have been spotted. Here’s some leftovers.
• If the key fits all locks; ignition, steering lock, seat lock and filler cap, that’s a big positive.
• The front of the tank should sit on a rubber
• The brake cable nipple should have a barrel at the end (dangerous)
• Battery clamp is not standard
• The airbox should have holes in the back (hidden on photos)
• The swingarm should have a circumferential weld about 2” forward of the hub flange (hidden on photos)
• Stainless spokes front – good point
• Rear wheel has 4 webs, my 90/6s both have 3, my R90S stock has 3 and my R90S track bike has 4 (shrugs shoulders!) – I don’t think it makes a difference.
• The heads are definitely R90S, they are unique.
• As it’s had the later switch gear, the ignition should only be 3 position. I bet the original was 5 position.
Some photos attached which may enlighten or confuse…
I think with a little TLC and a proper paint job, it’ll be a nice bike – does it run and handle ok?

Do you want to make me an offer for a pair of R90S handlebar clamps?

Haha I worked out the rebuild cost on a fag packet and decide I’d let someone else do it.

So sorry but its already gone Mikey :thumb

IS THAT A CHINEESE COPY?? THATS GOT A BIT OF A MOISTURE PROBLEM???

I wonder if the Internet and the ability of everyone to cross check prices for pretty much everything, including seeing prices for past auctions keeps prices for most stuff at near max of market value. That without Internet, a bike like this, looking a bit sad might have moved on for a fraction of that.

It is a shocking price for what is essentially a pile of scrap metal attached to a R90s badge.

Possibly , the internet has given everyone the chance to get specialists knowledge without having to study the subject for years.

I can understand why you may think that

BUT I thought it was a fair price. :aidan

If you are going to spend several thousands doing a restoration then the initial cost of the bike is important (if money is a consideration of course). If everything is going to be blasted painted and rebuilt then to a certain degree condition isn’t so important. Engine and frame numbers along with rare hard to find parts are all important.
It’s the cheapest 90s you will find for a long and probably the roughest. :D

What would you say a fair price would be ?
