I have a Dainese gore tex suit that's about 2 years old. I only wash it with warm water which is ok but when I get some heavy stains can I use something stronger to clean it with. Also does the gore tex coating "wear" out over time and should it be recoated with anything rather than buy a new suit.
thanks

Scrub it with a brush.

There’s lots of threads on washing kit, using anything from Nikwax to Fairy / Lux soap flakes. Try looking at some. Here’s a sample: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/463566-Cleaning-Goretex?highlight=Nikwax

Failing that, read the care label or send to Scrubbers, who are not a million miles away from you. Routes available on request.

In the meantime:

Goretex doesn't have a coating. Two things normally make it leak, dirt or old age.
Normally reactivated by ironing or tumble drying, subject to makers recommendations

Can recommend the Scrubbers route. Had my Rukka kit cleaned there before Xmas. Feels like brand new again. Only issue was the cost of sending it there. That cost more than the Scrubbers treatment. Because it's worth over the £500 limit I was charged quite a bit extra for insurance. If you live close to them just drop it off.
