Took my shiny new 65 plate F700GS for its first MOT yesterday to be greeted by the phrase “ it could fail” What says I , I only cleaned it this morning. The issue an errant engine mounting bolt obehind the left hand gear lever / foot rest assembly, right at the back of the engine.
Its a M10 25 mm 1.25 fine thread bolt that had just gone. Anyway advisory aside a ss replacement was fitted the same afternoon.
So moral of this tale, have a look at the lhs rear of your F700GS engines and make sue the retaining bolt is still there.
