I am considering moving from an Autocom wired intercom system that has in helmet speakers to a fully bluetooth device. I now wish to be able to use in ear speakers with a bluetooth set up.

Over recent years I have tried Sena / Scala etc bluetooth devices but they have not worked as I need them to so have stuck with an Autocom system. I want the device to allow for both Rider and Pillion to listen to the same music and instructions from a Garmin sat nav and to be able to talk to each other at which point the music/sat nav sounds reduces.

I was wondering if anyone has experience of these or similar products (links below) and do they do what I require them to - both Rider and Pillion to hear same music and instructions from Garmin sat nav and to be able to talk to each other at which point the music/sat nav sound reduces

If these or similar do work for rider and pillion what is the quality of the music/sat nav instructions and boom mic reception through the in-ear speakers please?

currently using a Sena 10R. I connect this to the nav6 to listen to music directions etc. I use in ear speakers as this this model allows for the helmet speakers to be disconnected. When I carry a pillion, they also use a Sena 10R which connects directly to mine using the Sena configuration menu on the headset. They hear what I hear. We speak by having the headsets paired up on Vox. All works ok,used to drop out in the early days but no problem now. The VOX is not the best. The only flaw is the pillion can't control the music playing ..so when ACDC hit the wires, she moans she wants ABBA on .....sometimes its best not to talk !

There is also the Sena SF2 https://www.sena.com/product/sf2

I believe in-ear devices are illegal in many countries, so this might not be a good solution if you tour in Europe. The in-helmet speakers with Bluetooth systems seem pretty good, so why not just go with that as a like-for-like replacement for the Autocom headset? I may have had similar issues/requirements to you, resulting in going from Bluetooth to an Autocom Logic system, but have now gone back to Bluetooth, so you may find my rather lengthy post in the following thread of interest:

I use Ultimate Ear in-ear speakers, which look similar to Mercury the ones you've linked to. I've used a few pairs from them over the years, and have had the moulds made at the Bike Show. Sound quality from the ear plugs is very good indeed - much better than the earphones you get with most mobile phones, for example, and they have the additional benefit of being very effective ear plugs as well. Helmet speakers that are loud enough to work without earplugs are subjecting your ears to a huge sound volume as they have to drown out the already loud wind noise.

Obviously the in-ear monitors won't improve things if the sound quality from whatever music source you're using is not good.

As said above, using in-ear speakers is illegal in Spain (among other places) though helmet speakers and earplugs are apparently fine. Makes no sense, but there you go. I have used mine in Spain for the past couple of years but been careful to keep the wires tucked out of site so at least I'm not advertising the fact.

In respect of both listening to the same thing, I don't think there's any reason why this would not work with oru current BT intercom - Sena 20S. I can see the advantage of both being able to hear the sat nav instructions. However as my current pillion of choice and I have very different tastes in music, she doesn't bluetooth her Sena to the bike. That way I can listen to proper music on my MP3 player plugged into the bike or (in theory) from my iPhone or the bike's radio, and she can listen to the shouty def metal noise from her own phone.
