Derelict PD

Well that came up gooderly , its looking very nice :D
That’s the better side:D
But in fairness ,I completely see where Dave is coming from.
It’s one thing if you buy an old bike for restoration, and want a shiney garage queen.
But every scratch and mark on the panel work tells a story.
We can keep its history and give it a new lease of life.
It’s looking good:thumby:
Will have the forks back from rechrome on Wednesday.
Just having some repair work done on the cylinder barrels,(f@@king studs wouldn’t come out) they will be despatched for replating.
Wheels should be back next week.
Bevel is rebuilt and waiting for the swing arm coming back from having the damage repaired.
Few weeks and it’ll be close:thumby:

Fork legs are back from rechrome and the bull bar from powder.
Full set of new cables are being fitted plus a few other bitsnbobs :D

Mistacat has waved his magic welding torch over the damaged swinging arm.
Once it’s been vapour blasted it will be virtually invisible :bow

Wow! That mark was on the bike when I bought it, I'd have never thought you could sort it like that.

Just amazing :)

On a positive note. All the bits you wanted doing this week are done, snapped Barrel studs & 1200 timing cover studs, new splines on crown wheel, new fins on cylinder head.
Also all mods to frame No.3 are complete.
time to talk to Arkright the transport manager. :D

The rear rim had a nasty score on the Rh side
Probably a rock jammed in between the wheel and swing arm

Actually, I've got a feeling it was me trying to get out of this mess on a Newfoundland beach.

Apparently excessive throttle is never the answer...

Incredible work to recover the rims though, I'm telling you there's some kind of wizardry going on with you and your partners! :proff

I know, I know, it was my own fault too, was trying to show off (thankfully only to myself) and didn't figure on the really soft sand in the middle of the beach.

Had to walk a couple of miles and ask for some help which was a bit embarrassing, but Newfies being Newfies, they couldn't have been happier to help or more friendly and I was soon on my way again...

I'd go back there in a heartbeat, it's a great part of the world.

We put the bike to one side for a bit,as it was getting a bit heavy on its stand,
We have wheels, and new boots for the swing arm so will get it on the ground ASAP

No probs Mikey, as you know I'm in no rush and I'm enjoying watching it all come together!

Need to figure out some ideas regarding panniers, extra lights and a replacement horn too so will come back to you with some ideas on that soon.
