Has anyone had their GSA seat adapted to have some foam taken out? - I could just do with being a bit lower but don't really want to compromise comfort too much.

I'm guessing aftermarket lowered seats are basically a standard with less foam.

Thanks.

Hi buy the seat bobbins Wunderlich from nippys I’ve bought 3 sets for mates bikes fit in seconds and they al,love em.

Done to death with standard BMW seats :-

Low gsa seat = standard gs seat
standard gsa seat = high gs seat
high gsa seat= very high gs seat
low gs seat= very low gsa seat

Bases are all the same only the thickness of foam and style of covers differ. keep your standard gsa seat and buy a used (cheap) ripped or damaged seat off e bay and get it recovered

Having mine done by a chap in Somerset who specialises in bike seats...don't have his name to hand at the minute but can dig it out. You ride to his place, he takes all sorts of measurements (seat to peg, leg length etc etc) and discusses foam options (thickness and firmness of padding) and you ride off. Get home, post him your seat and for about 65 of your finest British round pounds, he will make up the seat and post it back in the same week.

On my TC GSA -
Tony Archer, put a gel pad in and also reduced the overall height by 1” was all day comfy.
£70 incl postage returned within 5 days (but that was a few years ago)

Thanks - any contact details please?

Friend of mine recently had his seat lowered by Tony Archer. Cost was about £50 if I recall correctly, with a very quick turnaround time. He tells me it's very comfortable too.

Maybe he’s lying, had mine done and fitted gel pad at same time. Comfier ? No. Still crap. Having seat lowered alone will not make it more comfortable. The filling BMW use is poor and therefore increasing or decreasing thickness will not help one bit - Tony Archers words not mine
