Just noticed on the back of the owners manual it recommends super unleaded - I've been using standard. Anyone using super unleaded and noticed any difference?

Look at the RON rating rather than description.

95 Ron is standard unleaded petrol in the UK. Super varies between 97 & 100 depending on retailer

I believe that Americans have lower grade fuel as standard so to them our standard 95 RON would be super unleaded. However, BMW really shouldn't use vague undefined terms like "super unleaded" in the manual, and should stick to quoting the recognised EU and American standard grades.

"Super" was a label attached to all sorts of stuff. Take your pick:-

Try the black pump that will do the job........oops I said black...I mean slightly darker shade of grey.....

Filled my K1200RS with cheap fuel (by mistake) in Europe last year (less than 95 octane I assume) - ran like a pig. Stalled at some traffic lights and vibrated at motorway speeds!

I think it was in Germany IIRC, near the Nurburgring.
