I agree, this is a lovely bike. I see it with/without Dellorto carbs and a different brake - which is the latest incarnation?

The latest is the lower one.
Bought the bike with the Dellorto's, But could not get used to them. a buddy of mine wanted to switch with the standard Bings, problem solved ;)
I replaced the default brake with a 1200GS one and a special bracket. BIG difference !!

Those bags are spot-on, too. I do wonder whether that's the best looking airhead I've ever seen. Fabulous job.

Very nice bike. :thumby:

Rare colour is it a US import?

Your wife standing on tiptoes gives an indication of how tall these bikes are when on the centre stand.

Yes an US import. I can’t find another PD in this scheme which makes me think
It’s a custom job. Although if it is the paint job is as good as anything from the factory .
Originally from UTAH although it’s spent time to in both new York and California

The instruments panel looks like an improvement on the original.

Isn't this the standard panel as fitted to the first PD? Later ones (post 1990, those with the daft indicator switches) lost the clock and had the larger matching speedo/rev counters. Early version better, IMHO.

I've had this 1993 R100R for 22 years and it now has about 31,000 miles.

Yes, it should really be a Japanese bike but macht nix!

The R80GS is such a lovely bike to ride, light, nimble, plenty fast enough and reasonably economical. The saddle is so comfy too.
