Airhead Eire, looks like you still have the PAS attached to your cylinder head and airbox. Can be easily removed and save weight if needed for very little cost, possibly also reducing risk of overheating exhaust valves. I can't message you as you are not a subscriber but have a search, plenty on the subject on this and other sites.

yep rip that of and bin it ,just put a plug in the head and airbox ,very easy too do

Y'know what, I'm glad you both mentioned that ! I've been meaning to ask somebody about
that whole set up. I thought it was on US-only models had it so I was surprised to my bike fitted
with it as it's originally a German import.
I'll do a search and see what's involved you both mentioned. Cheers !

1992 R80GS Special...
Fully rebuilt. Have just put 3,000km on the new speedo running it in. Siebenrock-built engine, 1,000cc conversion with large valve R100RS heads, rebuilt gearbox, new wiring loom, BAMW short rear subframe with G/S seat and Paris Dakar tank. 320mm disc, Continental TKC80s, Hepco & Becker expedition panniers, heated grips, bar raisers, lowered footpegs, high output voltage regulator, 55w spotlights, G/S switchgear, auxiliary power socket. Stainless exhaust with Y-piece, rebuilt wheels with stainless spokes and polished rims.
My fifth GS. Previously:

'85 G/S
'96 Basic Kalahari
'87 G/S Paris Dakar

Looks like you cornered the market on those R80GS reg's too, very nice.

Doing a running keep it on the road type do it up thingy.
Found a set of decals on another set of plastics, and managed to transfer (haha) them to the original, however in the in between time the tank was found to be badly corroded, so had to replace that, so now have multi coloured machine.
Was thinking about a colour change anyway and fancy the bumble colours. Don't like Metalic mystic red. (Thoughts appreciated) have spare set of plastics, so will be able to keep originals.
In process of fitting cheapo panniers ALPOS good enough for my needs.
Full service and about to tackle spline lubrication, (research reqd). couple of pics
