Hi
Yesterday afternoon some git stole my Yamaha Serow XT225 (L982JKN) from the Hallamshire Hospital carpark while I was at work banghead:.

It's been caught on the Trust's CCTV being ridden away and leaving at 14.38 (19/9). If anyone spots it being ridden or sees adverts for a Serow or Serow parts I'd appreciate being let know. It's a white rear disk version, kick and electric start Serow with a newish rebuilt black rim front wheel (doesn't match silver rear wheel).

For anyone riding to the Hallamshire and parking at the hospital carpark be warned. This was a planned theft as the thief has gone with a helmet, and tools to remove bits from it to bypass the lock and chain (which were left still attached to the steel rail) and to bypass the ignition.

Thanks for any info. Cheers.:

Sorry to hear this Avril ... I hope the thieving bastards get their due rewards :(

Sue and myself devastated for you ...

Hi Micky

Many thanks for the kind words :beerjug:. Hope those knees (and the rest of you) are doing well?

Avril

Planned thefts like these are hard to combat, I think the motorcycle bays are watched by scrotes. I visited Calow Hospital (Chesterfield) last week and parked the KTM in one, as I returned to the bike a scruffy teenager was bent over it looking at the cable lock I had fastened the front wheel to the rail, he'd got a Staffy type dog with him and just moved off as I approached. I reckon the dogs just an excuse to trawl the car parks.
It may be worth posting the theft on Facebook as it gets reposted by all the bikers.
Hope you get the Serow back intact.

Sorry to read that. My Serow stolen just 3 months after I purchased it, heart-wrenching.

Post photo's and the details on every forum you can think of - especially the TRF, ABR and any local off-road bike shops. Also send photo's to the officer dealing with it. I believe there are 'stolen bike' groups on Facebook too. Doing this made me feel I'd done all I could.

Amazingly, my Serow was spotted by a PSCO two weeks after it had been stolen, so don't lose hope & I'll keep my ears open :)

Well she's back! Many thanks to South Yorkshire's finest - my Serow has been recovered.

Really glad to hear that. My Super Tenere was stolen a month ago just down the road at Hallam uni by a similarly well equipped thief. My bike was recovered the same night but was written off yesterday.
Have you physically got yours back?

When I had my police interview I was told there has been a spate of bike thefts this past month and the same scrotes are suspected to be involved. Bet it was the same scumbag.
