I searched for motorcycle holiday insurance and Carol Nash came up. Single trip, £38 for two of us.

And another vote for holidaysafe which I picked up from recommendations on this forum.

Direct line £50 for a year, specifically covers motorcycle touring in Europe, but you need to ask and helps if you are a customer already

For years I have used Carole Nash for travel insurance to cover going to Europe on the bike, I used to get cover for an individual trip and then when I retired changed to yearly cover and for 12 months for myself and the wife it was £90 two years ago, last year it went up to £110 and the quote that came in yesterday was over £195 for 12 months cover.

Will be ringing around next week for a less shall we say p*ss taking quote .

Go online to https://www.getgoinginsurance.co.uk/ and you can choose from 3 levels of cover. All have good medical cover, the extra layers are for what level you want belongings covered. The lowest will probably be under £50 for a year and you can then choose to add activity packs for skiing etc. The base activity pack covers using a bike for everyday transport. Off road riding needs a higher level.

My renewal from Aviva has come in.

Wife and myself Inc motorcycle touring over 125cc £55 for the yesr. As I have an existing house insurance policy the price comes down to £44.
I am 51. Wife is 49 with a couple of declarations
Covers whole of Europe.

So CN quoted me £195 for myself and my wife for 12months standard travel insurance cover .

Online quote for single trip shown as £62 per person for standard cover = £124
£64 per person for premium cover = £128

Online quote for annual cover is £64 per person for standard cover = £128
£81 per person for premium cover = £162

All of them considerably cheaper than their £195 quote and as for the ridiculous price of single trip cover , last single trip cover I took out with them 3 years ago was £38 for both of us for a 3 week trip.

Chiselling baskets , f*ck knows what will happen to travel insurance costs if the E111 reciprocal cover is scrapped

I think a condition of current EU travel insurance - is that you should have an E111 card, as the underwriters expect that to have primacy in the event of medical attention. I dont think it will increase much after we leave EU.

I usually go for worldwide annual cover through M&S/Axia, as I have it for work also.

i already have normal travel insurance,
planning France later on,do i need to take out another insurance for me and the Mrs on the bike ??????

depends - some travel policies exclude cover for injuries incurred when riding a bike - read the T&Cs - download a PDF and search for "motorcycle" - if unsure, tell us the insurer and someone will check for you, maybe

Whatever that is?

That depends on what your normal travel policy is, whether it covers your mrs as well as you, whether it covers France and whether it caters for the sort of motoycling you might have in mind.

Read the policy you have in your hands and draw your own conclusions.

Another vote for GetGoing. One of the few companies which will quote me for my medical conditions and riding the bike. Very reasonable cost, too.

What about for trips outside Europe ? On motorbikes (like a GS1200 ) ?
I am thinking of places like Morocco etc
Do the same recommendations apply ? Or are there specialist companies which the motorcycle tour organisers recommend ?
