Long story short, a workmates bike blew onto my Tmax today, his RH mirror grazing a dent in my titanium Akra end can. He initially tried to deny liability but I (ahem) had a few words. A new can is only available as part of a full system for the Tmax and is about £1200. We would both prefer to avoid going through the insurance so I proposed drilling the rivets out and getting a paintless dent removal guy to tease out the minor damage. I’ve had a preliminary quote of around £70 for this.

Has anybody had this kind of stuff done before, and with any success ?

Deffo needs a spangler to get some bars in there

the other way would be a dent slide hammer & hot glue fixings

I’ve seen car panel dents being done before, and looking at the shape of the dent I think it will need working from both sides of the metal. It shouldn’t be too hard to drill the rivets out of the end caps and reassemble afterwards. The panel beater I spoke to has 30+ years experience in dent removal, my main concern is the titanium work hardening too much as it is manipulated.
