.... take the old one out and put the new one back in??

I am mindful that the 'book' says to use a TDC locating pin and the cam shaft alignment tool, but I have seen a coupe of videos where the old tensioner is removed and the new one is simply inserted bish. bash, bosh!

Can it be so simple, or are the videos misleading in curing the noisy LHS noisy pot?

TIA.

I just took my standard left side out and fitted the upgraded longer one on my 1250. Minimal amount of oil loss is all it suffered. No issues with timing. It quietened mine down.
