I forgot to say to all who done the off road ride and went through the water
check your final drive oil for water coming in through the breather

Check to see if it's milky and if it is replace it... it takes under ten mins easily.

Most of you will likely know to do this.... but it a reminder just in case

1200 took me an hour last week, and that was with a pizza stop in the middle :D

But since there's no breather on the 1200, it shouldn't be an issue. That said, every time I've done any fording on mine I take it for a ride, and let a drop or two out of the fill bung in the back of the drive. If the oil's got any moisture in it, that'll be enough to show emulsification.

However, the drain at the rear of the final drive was blocked on mine when I changed the oil last week, and since BMW don't feel the need to grease the driveshaft universal joint, it is probably a good idea to loosen the gaitor between the shaft housing and bevel box to make sure it's not become watercooled. And if you are changing your oil, slap a load of grease around the UJ too.
