Firstly I'd like to say that, having booked early, £50 was not much to pay for what we got this year, all of which has been covered in other posts. In fact I thought it was excellent VFM.
Last year I came only for the Saturday, missed the rideouts and had to leave for home at around 10pm. I can't remember what I paid, but I do remember thinking that I (ME) hadn't made the most of the day.
However, I think the point here is that this event is focussed on making money for a charity that Steve is involved with. It is not there as some form of socialist commune for the benefit of all the 'brothers' and Bakes never markets it as such.
Considering this is a charity event I felt little or no pressure to keep dipping in my pocket. In fact I was disappointed when the raffle started and I hadn't been sold any tickets! Needless to say, I won nothing. I've been on many other charity events where the pressure to keep giving has been really opressive.
I do wonder if there were other ways Steve could have raised some extra cash?
Thanks for being one of those guys that makes the effort Steve. See you next year.

- If the raffle prizes had been announced the week before would GSers not going to the event have been prepared to buy tickets for a good cause using Paypal?
- Would the auction items have raised more money on ebay?
- I can't remember ticking a box when buying my ticket that related to Gift Aid. Could this raise more cash 'for free'?
- Could 'we' squeeze more out of BMW or other businesses related to the site? They'll only write it off as a charity donation and save themselves tax.
Thanks for being one of those guys that makes the effort Steve. See you next year.
