Careful so you don't end up contributing to the Tree of Shame. Plenty of asshats there in RVs and on Harleys, don't expect your lane to be clear.

And if you haven't decided on a place to crash - eh, erect your tent: There are loads of "motorcycle camp grounds" in the Smokey Mountains area. Way too many are of the "huge RV stacked with beer and towing a Harley" variety. I suggest the Kickstand Lodge (http://kickstandlodge.com). Mo and her daughter are great people, making you feel very welcome.

You're welcome. And one more thing while we're in that area: Do not speed on the Blue Ridge Pkwy! Seriously.

I've done the Dragon more than half a dozen times, great fun,

"The photographs don't do justice to 'the hump'. There's an extreme camber on the inside of both bends, so if you take a (strictly illegal) racing line across the yellow lines, the car drops violently to the left, pushes upright again, then drops violently to the right, then upright again. Coupled with the G-force of actually taking the bends, it's quite common for passengers (if not already busy with screaming), to spew up and even drivers have been known to be sick."

A write-up: http://www.zroadster.net/tim/drives/hc01.html with maps on the third page. I never got to finish the final pages as 9/11 intervened...
