My, how time goes by...
Those dark dismal days in Abbottabad and then Islamabad when I was banging my head against a brick wall trying to get the 'bikes repatriated to Blighty, lonely days where no one seemed to care, a Muslim lady who wanted to show me the sights of Abbottabad, with no hidden agenda
I mean... Abbottabad of all places ... feck me
All history... thank goodness!
A horrific taxi ride had got Sue to the airport at Islamabad and she flew home 'business class' courtesy of the Irvine Campbell repatriation insurance following her accident on the Karakorum Highway ... and away from it all.
The compound fracture of her right arm is taking time to mend. She now has a 'frozen shoulder' and calcification on the break area....
But the arm is mending, although much slower than the Queen of all eagerness and anticipation could ever expect, and the Atlas of the World is out again
Couple of video's here for those interested....
Armed escort in to Quetta. We had hooked up with a couple of other bikers, Paul from Belgium and Andreas from Austria and stayed together for the last couple of days through Iran in to Pakistan. We are escorted in to Quetta. The guy in front with no helmet and flip flops has an AK47 (I think) but with one up the spout and the safety off. There is a pick up behind us with machine gun Sue is on her Yamaha TTR250
T'other video (Panasonic LMX-3) shows us at Persepolis. Sue explains that this is the tomb of Darius the Great but it's actually the tomb of Xerxes the Great. We later found Darius's tomb 7km away at Nagush E Rostam
