Wow!

Last year we made a surplus of £250. Cost of things like beer and cider had gone up in the last year but we kept all prices the same as last year and still insisted on only the very best quality of meats for breakfast and dinners.

I never looked at the cash box until Sunday lunchtime as everything operated on a total honesty system, you simply paid for what you had with nobody checking anything. We fully trusted everyone and our trust in our fellow Airheaders was well rewarded.:)

When I finally started counting up the cash I was stunned to find a total of £1,847. I've gone through the costs with Proff and the costs have been paid totalling £957 leaving a net surplus of £890.50 which is fantastic. I have already paid the money direct into the Calum's Road JustGiving account as can be seen in the link in my signature so the money is already with the charity to help pay towards the road building.

Judging from all the comments and pictures on the other threads everybody seems to certainly have enjoyed themselves so we must be doing something right.:) To have such an enjoyable weekend, give good value for money with quality food and drink and then have such a brilliant amount to give to charity is exceptional.

I've spent today cleaning up the workshop but I feel great reading all the positive comments on here that everyone enjoyed themselves so much.

My son Peter has been discharged from hospital today and I'll be driving up to Swansea tomorrow to collect him and bring him down here to Devon for him to rest and recover for a few weeks.

Thanks again to everyone who turned up, everyone contributed to a wonderful atmosphere and a great weekend.

I suppose we will have to do this again next year?:)

PS If I could have sold off the numerous items left behind I could have raised even more money!:D Glasses, gloves, tools etc etc etc, the list is endless (forgetful old buggers these Airhead riders):D. Send me pm if you wish to claim anything left behind.:)

Fantastic guys :clap Good news on Peter and may he recover speedily. Well done all off you :bow

After a few panicky moments last week and some long discussions with Heather, I understand the big machinery work on the road has started today :thumb2

Brilliant news about Peter, Sid.
Briiliant result with the money as well. Just shows what we can do when a certain scouse gentleman isn't there :augie

I certainly hope there will be another next year as I'll certainly be up for it.
I don't think I left anything behind but it did strike me when packing up that I had quite a bit more space than I did on the way down. :nenau I did take two bottles of monkeyjuice down though, even if only one actually managed to get passed around. I won't mention where the other one went :rob

And you trusted him with alcohol.

Great effort on the fund raising.

Hope Peter feels better after some Devon air.

I plan to be on the mono next time:thumb2

That is good news Sid, the icing on the cake.
You will also be relieved to get Peter home, here's hoping for a swift recovery.

Proff ! how's your boy doing ?

Excellent news on he fundraising and also on Peter's discharge from hospital. I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

It looks as though everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and I'm sorry I missed it. Once again, SWMBO has been in hospital - this time for a knee replacement - and as she can't get about or look after her 91 year-old father I am confined to barracks.

Maybe next year.

Keep safe, all of you.

Bob.

What a result !!

Many thanks Sid and Anne, Prof and Barb for organising a magic wee-kend.
Arrived in Cornwall Sunday lunchtime, took Monday off but i'm back at work now oh well !!
